Furthermore, and in the week that most lockdown restrictions were eased, the data pinpoints exactly which areas have the most jobs to choose from. Covering the breadth of the country, the places with the biggest quarterly increase in job postings, were as follows:
Exeter +39.2%
Southampton +37.6%
Coventry +29.1%
Brighton +26.2%
Leeds +24.8%
Bristol +24.4%
Hull +22.8%
Liverpool +22.3%
Sheffield +21.6%
Newcastle-Upon-Tyne +21.1%
Lee Biggins, CEO and founder comments: “There’s no surprise that job postings are up in Q2, given the lockdown restrictions imposed in Q1. What may surprise many is that London not only failed to make the to 10, but it also bucked the national average with job postings increasing by +18.4%.”
Biggins continues: “As we emerge from most of the restrictions from this week, it will be interesting to see how the job market fairs and, crucially, if candidates will be drawn back to London. Salary and flexible working will be the determining factor in the current candidate led market.”
